Abdulnasser Bin Kalban
Abdulnasser Ibrahim Saif Bin Kalban is Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Global Aluminium since January 2020. He is responsible for managing EGA’s ongoing operations and business, and reports to EGA’s Managing Director.
Mr. Bin Kalban is also the Chief Executive Officer of Dubal Holding LLC, a 50 per cent shareholder of EGA and a wholly owned subsidiary of Investment Corporation of Dubai. His responsibilities include channelling investments into the fields of commodities and mining, power and energy, and industrial projects with special focus on developing and promoting aluminium downstream capabilities in the United Arab Emirates.
Mr. Bin Kalban joined DUBAL in 1996 and worked in both Major Projects and the Power and Desalination Department. In 2014, DUBAL merged with EMAL to form EGA. The same year, Mr. Kalban left his position as General Manager of Power and Desalination plant at EGA following his appointment as CEO of Dubal Holding LLC.
Mr. Bin Kalban is an Alternate Board Member of EGA since May 2017 and a member of the company’s Technical and Project Committee and Finance and Commercial Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC), EGA’s bauxite mining subsidiary. He is Chairman of the Board of EMIROLL, an aluminium rolling mill facility under development at Abu Dhabi; Vice Chairman of the Board of Sinoway Carbon, a calcined petroleum coke production facility in Shandong, China; and a member of several other committees including the Dubai Natural Gas Sourcing Committee the United Arab Emirates Energy Strategic Planning Committee and the International Aluminium Institute Committee.
Mr. Kalban has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Western Michigan University in the United States and has completed Strategic Management and Leadership Courses at INSEAD Business School, France and Harvard Business School.
