The world around us
We work and we live here and many of us are Guinean. We are part of the Boké region and we want to share a healthy environment and a happy society.
We are committed to safeguarding our environment and making a positive contribution to the communities of which we are part. We aspire to be measured among the world’s most responsible mining companies in everything we do.
Mine into GAC's operations
We operate a bauxite mining concession located in the northwest of the Republic of Guinea. Once mined, bauxite ore is transported by rail to our port at Kamsar, on the country’s Atlantic coast, and then shipped by sea to world markets.

Mine
GAC’s mining concession is located between the towns of Sangaredi and Boké. Bauxite deposits are found at or near the surface. The area to be developed before 2040 contains almost 400 million tonnes of bauxite mineral resources.

Railroad
Our trains each have three locomotives and 120 wagons. Each wagon can hold 85 tonnes of ore. The trains are loaded from the stockpile by a fleet of four front-end loaders.

Port
When trains arrive at our port facilities at Kamsar, they are unloaded by a double tipper, which upturns two wagons at a time without detaching them. Our transhipment location is 37 kilometres away, in water deep enough for Capesize vessels.
