René Désiré Morel

Deputy Director General

René Désiré Morel has been appointed as Deputy Director General and Manager of Public Affairs of Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC) in April 2022. He oversees all the company’s government relations activities.

René joined Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC) in 2015 as Government Relations Officer and was promoted to Manager, Government Relations in January 2022. Prior to joining GAC, Mr. Morel held different public affairs positions both in Guinea and the United Kingdom.

Mr. Morel holds a bachelor’s degree (honours) in International Business from the Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom. He also studied international business at the Yokohama National University in Japan. He is fluent in French, English and in different Guinean national languages.
