Steeve Tremblay

Chief Executive Officer

Steeve Tremblay has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC) in April 2022.  

Mr. Tremblay joined GAC in 2017 as Vice-President and Project Director and was responsible for the construction of GAC’s mining operations. Once the construction completed, in 2020, Mr. Tremblay was appointed Project Director of the Minesa Mining project in Colombia. In 2021, he re-joined GAC as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing mine, rail and port operations as well as support services, health & safety, quality assurance, business improvement, information technologies, GAC’s Rapid Growth Program, site security and fuel procurement.

Mr. Tremblay has worked in many places around the world, including South America, Africa, the Middle East and North America, and has extensive experience in a wide range of industries and projects, including industrial facilities, the study and implementation of major brownfield and greenfield projects, construction management, business development and operations management. Prior to joining GAC, he held senior roles at SNC-Lavalin International, Rio Tinto, BPR-Bechtel and Alcan.

Mr. Tremblay holds a master’s degree in Project Management and a bachelor’s degree in Unified, Mechanical and Civil Engineering from Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. He is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (Québec Order of Engineers).
