Guinea Alumina Corporation is the bauxite mining subsidiary of Emirates Global Aluminium, the world’s largest ‘premium aluminium’ producer. We mine and move bauxite, the ore from which aluminium is derived.

Youssuff Sylla
Director General
Youssuff Sylla has been appointed Director General and Director of Human Capital of Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC) in April 2022. He also serves as the company’s Commercial Director since 2019.
Mr. Sylla have joined GAC as a financial controller in 2014. He has over 20 years of experience across Africa, Europe, and North America, which includes 13 years in the mining sector and five years with a financial institution in Canada. Mr. Sylla worked for Rio Tinto before joining Glencore in the Republic of Congo, where he served in variously as a financial controller, administrative and financial director.
Mr. Sylla holds a master’s degree in economics and international management from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Montreal, Canada, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium. Mr Sylla is also a Certified International Supply Chain Manager by the International Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Institute.
